CMP en Tampico 2024

June 28, 2024

On Wednesday the 19 th of June, while tropical storm Alberto was torturing the East Coast of Mexico, the Congreso Mexicano Petroleo (CMP) was supposed to start in Tampico, Tamaulipas. Unfortunately, due to the heavy rainfall and wind gusts, the organization decided to adjust the schedule and move the opening ceremony to the next day.

Luckily, Holland House Mexico scheduled a networking lunch for all our members on the same day. Therefore, we were still able to kick-off the event with a nice Italian lunch at restaurant Digarda. Most of members and partners had already arrived in Tampico, and regardless of the extreme weather outside, we got together for a perfect blend of fun, food, fruitful networking, enhancing business relationships and creating lasting memories.

The next day, Thursday 20 th of June, the CMP officially opened the doors with the opening ceremony at 10.00 in the morning. Shortly after, large amounts of visitors started filling up the exposition areas. During this year’s event, Holland House Mexico organized a Dutch Pavilion on which all of our participating members had their own dedicated space to showcase their products and services. With in the center of the pavilion, the Holland House Mexico bar; offering fresh Heineken beers and delicious stroopwafels.

Despite the storm, the Dutch Pavilion was packed with visitors and buzzing with energy. Once the Dutch Networking Cocktail started in the late afternoon, the excitement went through the roof and nobody wanted to leave. While indulging in some delicious snacks and enjoying a drink or two, this offered an excellent environment for introductions, the exchange of business cards, discussions on market developments, as well as exploring future cooperation. The day officially ended at 18.00 in the afternoon, but the Dutch Pavilion remained crowded until the organization politely asked us to close doors and get ready for the next day.

Friday 21 st of June was yet another successful day at the Dutch Pavilion, with many new faces but also quite a few returning visitors. This day was special, as the Dutch National Football team was playing a match against France in the EURO Cup. We made sure to broadcast the match live at the Dutch Pavilion, and this attracted quite a crowd to the stand yet again. Unfortunately, we had to settle for a draw but that did not change the positive mood.

That night, the weather got worse and it just would not stop raining. Therefore, Saturday 22 nd of June, the large tents which contained the stands were partially flooded and there was no electricity in the morning. It seemed that all participants and visitors had already decided that Friday would be the last day of the event because there were no visitors anymore.

We look back at a very successful CMP 2024 Tampico, despite the conditions, we made it a big success. Holland House Mexico extends heartfelt gratitude to each one the members and sponsors who participated in this event. Thank you for your continuous support, dedication, and trust in HHM. We hope this has been a great experience for you. Please share your feedback with us so we can improve the organization for next year. We have already secured our place for CMP 2025 which will take place in Forum Mundo Imperial, in the port of Acapulco, Guerrero.

We hope you will be part of the Dutch Pavilion next year!
