SUMMARY:Open Call: Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Sistemas de Fachadas
DESCRIPTION:An open call to imagine a space for learning\, creating and dreaming. \nWhat can design do for the place where we learn every day? \nTo mark its 20th anniversary\, Sistemas de Fachadas\, in collaboration with Holland House Mexico and as part of the partner programme for the tenth edition of Abierto de Diseño CDMX\, invites designers\, artists\, illustrators\, architects\, students and creative individuals from Mexico and the Netherlands—regardless of age\, experience or educational background—to imagine a graphic intervention for Sara Manzano Primary School\, located between Mexico City’s Historic Centre and Tepito. \nThe school is part of Save the Children Mexico’s support network and welcomes more than 130 children each year. For many of its students\, it is more than a classroom: it is a place to learn\, spend time together\, play\, eat\, feel safe\, express themselves and discover new possibilities for their future. \nThe invitation is simple: to use design and art to transform one of the school’s spaces\, making it more stimulating\, welcoming\, joyful and imaginative for those who use it every day. \nWe are not looking to decorate a wall. We are looking for ideas capable of listening to a place and its community. \nSubmission format: Digital artwork in AI or PDF format\nIntervention area: 4 × 4 m / four modules\nOpening date: 6 August 2026\nClosing date: 11 September 2026\nPrize: MXN $20\,000—approximately EUR 1\,000\, depending on the exchange\nrate—for the winning proposal. \nPlease consult the full competition guidelines here. \nSubmit your design through the following link. \nAfter two rounds of filtering\, four designs will be selected and exhibited during Abierto de Diseño from September 25 to October 24 at CENART.
